A unique excellent product. I've read reviews that the cutout for the apple logo is off. It will be off if the top cover is installed upside down. Discovered that and set it right side up. Overall I'm very satisfied and too my co-workers wished there was one made for the their non mac laptops.

I was so disappointed with the fit...the bottom was too small. I just bought a new macbook and I'm trying to keep it as new as possible but I guess I'm just going to have to keep looking...ugh this really sucks. Do Not Buy This Item.

horrible shell... not real carbonMay 17, 2010
i bought this shell after seeing my friends "speck" shell. i was expecting something along those lines, e.g. a hard, snap on, rigid shell. when this item arrived, i was disappointed. it is merely a cheap plastic case wrapped in vinyl that looks like carbon fiber. not at all worth the price. due to its construction, it acts as an insulator on the unibody macbook pro which causes my $1700 laptop to run way hotter than it ever should. the snap-on tabs are very shoddy and do not hold well, also this shell makes the macbook way bigger and bulkier than i ever imagined it could.
conclusion: save yourself $30 and buy a speck shell, i know i will be purchasing one.

This case is very sexy - the feel of it is somewhere between silk and leather. It's not a baked carbon fiber hard-case, it's what appears to be weave of actual carbon fibers on top of a rigid shell covered in the inside with a soft-fibered protective material. This is a definitely high-class case which actually makes you self-conscious about it's style. You will get covetous looks and questions about it in the conference room - be prepared, it's _dripping_ sexy. Fits great, covers the sleep led, but who cares? All ports and vents are accessible. I would only revise it by covering the glowing Apple logo altogether. All 5 star ratings? Get it. You know you want to.

Beautiful and classy cover, soft inside so does not scratch your laptop. It is a bit pricy but well worth it once you see it on, I have been searching for the perfect one, between a hard cover that may actually scratch the laptop more or a skin of some sorts that may be difficult to install or not stay on after time. This cover is soft inside and clicks on to your lap top with one snap. I would recommend this item if you are looking for something descent.
